March 1st Text Understanding Question
Why doesn’t Grant want to get involved with Jefferson and his case? Discuss your thoughts with evidence from the text. Please respond to someone else's post after posting your own.
i think grant doesn't want to get involed with jeffersons case because he feels like it would be a waste of time. he feels that it wouldnt make a difference to his life since he is already in line for death row. Not only is this selfself , in my eyes, but also wrong of him. He is a teacher this is his job. It is pretty much his duty as a teacher to do this. It is really such a big problem to go and speak to the guy ?
Grant doesn't want to get involved with Jefferson and his case because he was confuse that he can be successful to make Jefferson feel that he is not a hog and the most important thing is he don't know who is he I mean with this is that he is doubtful in his life to he does not now whats going on and how to solve the things.
i think that its because he feels like he has his own life and jefferson's life isnt that important to him since he is under educated. there are parts where he tells his aunt and miss Emma that he wants to leave and he wants to be with his girlfreind. he wants his own life.
hes being selfish and yea i know alot of of our community is like that wich is sad cuz everyone no matter what age or who your are where you at if you needed help you would want someone to help you i know i would
Grant doesn't want to get involved with Jefferson and his case because he feels like there isn't a point of change between him and the case. Grant believes if he does what Jefferson's aunt asked him to do it woun't make a difference because no matter what, he's going to die and theres nothing to help him live. So i think the best thing for Grant to do is to just do the favor and make it look good on his part to show them all that he really does care about Jefferson and he wants him to change before he dies
Grant doesn't want to get involved with Jefferson's case because the reason he wouldn't want to do it is to protect himself and not be in the circle that the case has. Every attitude that Grant commits to his aunt and Emma opposes the truth that he is hiding in himself. It seems that Grant first wants to be in his own business teaching in the church and living his own life instead of showing pitty to Jefferson because of the death row and probably because of a personal reason between both of them. In my own opinion, if i was Grant, I would mind and show him grattitude even though he did bad things. However, I still ask myself if Grant is another person inside of him.
i bealive grant dosent to get involved with jeffersons and his case because he feels like even if he tries to do something it wont help maybe just maybe it might make the judge think about something but it wont change the other poeples mind so preety much its like he already knows that his case in done and close lost and hes definately on death row no matter what no sonce or point he dosent even wanna try because he feels it wont even make a slight change maybe grant does care but not enough to take an action but i think he should atleast try to the the fullest on his part atleast show jefferson that he does care not be selfish just cant stress it enough becaause if that was him ofcourse he would want someone to help or atleast feel a lilttle confortable even if its only for a while and you know your "destination"
